Another successful Advent Quiet Day! On Saturday 14th December we warmly welcomed Revd. Helen Rees to St Michael’s, Llanvihangel Crucorney to lead us for a a Quiet Day of contemplation and calm.
Our day began with Morning Prayer, then Helen provided us with a series of engaging talks centred around the ‘waiting’ of Advent. We were challenged with questions:
‘Have there been times you have had to wait? Has waiting ever been painful/scary? How can we use the waiting of advent to better listen to God?’
There were then periods of quiet where we were free to contemplate these questions through private prayer, reading, walking the surrounding paths or just calmly sitting before God.
Everyone was kept warm with tea, coffee and mince pies throughout. The day was also accompanied by a delicious fish and chip lunch! We then ended with Evening prayer to conclude our day of fellowship and reflection.
