Whitsun Bank Holiday brought lots of visitors to St Michael’s for their Flower Festival. Titled “There’s no business like show business”, 26 flower arrangements were on display based on well-loved musicals made by the ladies of the Abergavenny Flower Arrangement Society. the weekend began on the Thursday with a Fork Supper Preview, before opening the doors on the Friday to Monday.
The Festival was started at the church gate by the pupils of Llavihangel Cruconrey Primary School whose flower-filled shoes showcased 42nd Street! Other displays included Wizard of Oz, Guys and Dolls, King and I, Lion King, South Pacific and many more!
Visitors were also drawn to the very impressive Tower of Flowers carefully constructed by the Craft Club, tumbling from the top of the church’s tower. Hundreds of these flowers could also be bought in memory of loved ones, with a message attached to its leaf.
