As Christians, instead of Halloween, we prefer to celebrate love, light, and laughter with Jesus at the centre. To help us shine bright with kindness, our School Engagement Pioneer Emily Bailey hosted a Light Craft and Lunch Club during half term at Llantilio Pertholey Church in Wales Primary School.
Monday 27th October was a lovely morning exploring how Jesus is the Light of the World. The children learnt that, just like him, they too are the light of God that keeps shining on. Through them, Jesus’s words will carry on through life within the next generation.
There were lots of craft and light involved to help them understand the light of the Gospel in the darkness of the world. They made recycled lanterns from glass jars, using stickers, lots of glitter, glue and shiny gems. They also made wooden pumpkin decorations and glow in the dark wool. There was some individual hand print candle light art which looked a lot of fun! They sang lots of songs and danced to celebrate Jesus as the Light.
Everyone shared a lunch of jacket potatoes with beans and cheese as they enjoyed each others company. Keep an eye out for more family activities run by Emily!
Emily is building a new and vibrant family community in our Ministry Area but she can only do this with our help! Some of these activities are not possible without volunteers. Recent Safeguarding guidelines are advising more adults present than we currently have and so we need as much help as we can get!
