Thy Kingdom Come Prayer Stations

Thy Kingdom Come Week was marked at St Teilo’s, Llantilio Pertholey with special ‘God is with Us’ prayer stations designed by our Ministry Area Warden Jess Graham.

On Saturday 23rd May, St Teilo’s definitely became a cool oasis during the bank holiday heat wave! Prayer stations were set up in different areas of the church to encourage reflection, quiet and calm.

The stations followed different individuals from both the Old and New Testament and how prayer helped them draw closer to God. Some examples included:

  • Light of Pentecost – we were invited to light a candle on a map for those we pray for around the world.
  • Noah and the Whale – we were invited to admit our mistakes and embrace the second chances God gives us.
  • Naaman was healed by the waters – we were invited to touch waters of the font and pray for renewal.
  • Elijah’s encounter with God – we were invited to sit in the quiet ‘cave’ and listen for the “still, small voice of God”

Church members even braved the heat with some gardening to make sure the churchyard stays maintained for any visitors.
