Do I need to be baptised to come to church?
No, you don’t need to be baptised – everyone is welcome in any of our 17 churches.
If you are interested in being baptised, this is something you can discuss with your local vicar.
What do I wear?
Wear anything you feel comfortable in!
What do I bring?
All our churches will give the service sheets and hymn books you’ll need when you arrive.
Do I need to pay?
No, there is never a cost to come and worship God. There is an option to donate money to help the ongoing costs of the church, but this is always voluntary.
When do I sit, stand and kneel?
It can be confusing! Don’t worry about getting it right to begin with, you can follow the service sheet and the people around you.
Is there singing?
Some of our services have hymns and some are just spoken, you choose what suits you. Singing can be a wonderful way for people to connect to God.

When do I arrive?
Our churches have different service times, so you can choose what best fits you. Service times can be found here. People usually arrive about 15 mins before, so they can get their minds ready to worship God. But you’ll never be turned away if you’re late!

There are no reserved spaces in our churches – you are welcome to sit anywhere you like.

How long is the service?
Our services range from 45 minutes to just over an hour.
What happens in a service?
It will depend on the service. Usually, it will involve reading from the bible, a sermon by the Vicar to explain the readings, prayers, hymns and a Eucharist (or Lord’s Supper).
What is the Eucharist?
The Eucharist (also known as ‘Holy Communion’) is when we receive the body and blood of Christ through the bread and wine. It is a very important part of the service when we believe Christ becomes truly present to us. The Church in Wales states that anyone who is baptised can receive the Eucharist.
What if I’m not baptised?
If you are not baptised, you won’t receive Communion, but you are invited to come up to the altar and receive a blessing from the Vicar.
Is there singing?
It varies! Some of our services have lots of hymns, some are just spoken. Choose whatever fits you. Singing is a wonderful way for people to connect to God.
Do I need to talk to people?
That is up to you! Everybody is friendly and always happy to offer you support and friendship. Our services are often followed by tea, coffee, biscuits and lots of chatting with each other. But, if you are coming to church for some reflection and quiet time alone, that is fine too.
Can I get married in church?
